Born in Vancouver, Canada, Juri Yun began the guitar at the age of 14. Originally self taught, he won his first guitar competition the following year where he met his first guitar teacher.

Within a few years Juri has risen as one of Canada’s top upcoming guitarists. He has performed in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Since 2014, Juri has won top prizes in both Canada and the US. In 2019 he made his debut at Carnegie Hall.

Juri has studied with prolific guitarists such as David Russell, Pepe Romero, Sergio Assad, David Tanenbaum, Marc Teicholz, Scott Tenant, Judicael Perroy, Meng Su, Jeffrey McFadden, and many more.

He holds Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Toronto, a Masters of Music and Artist Diploma from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music

Juri is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Southern California where he studies under maestro William Kanengiser. He is researching how the application of sport’s psychology can help musicians with performance anxiety and stage fright.
